Our company, which has its roots in the flax industry,
has grown into a highly specialized tow scutcher over recent decades.

as a secondary activity and in order to make optimum use of the space available in the existing buildings.
The Ghekiere company is a dynamic family run SME that has been established since 1958 by
Daniël Ghekiere.
He was married to the daughter of flax machine constructor Deman.
Daniël’s father owned a water retted flax scutching company.
The Ghekiere family has thus been active in the flax scutching industry for many
generations now and is very well known in the sector.
Situated in the historic heart of the West Flemish flax industry,
the company has always striven to ensure high quality products and loyalty
towards its customers and suppliers.
This image is carefully controlled and reflects itself in the long term relationships
with customers.
Our main activity is scutching flax tow for the carding and cottonizing industry and spinning mills..
Annual capacity of scutched flax tow: approx 1500 tons.
The monitoring of our quality is still our main concern.
Thanks to our years of experience as well as our experienced team we can provide fiber according to the specific requirements of each customer.
Quality control begins already through our production method.
We do not work with automatic feed belts,
but still feed the machines with hand rolls, which gives the great advantage
to
remove inferior fibers as well as any foreign fibers.
In our two production lines, we work with finesse machines, machines that open the
fibers,
refine and extract a large part of the seed carriers.
They also additionally remove the remaining pectins on the fibers.
We can also control quality through the choice of our suppliers.
We only work with flaxeners that we are sure are closely swinging.
